Couple Counseling

Relationships can be one of our greatest sources of joy, connection, and fulfillment — and also a place where old wounds, stress, and misunderstandings can surface. It is completely normal for couples to experience periods of distance, conflict, or emotional disconnection. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength and commitment, not failure.

In my work with couples, I integrate relational science, mind–body awareness, nervous-system regulation, and evidence-based couples

therapies to help partners build healthier, more connected, and emotionally intelligent relationships. I support couples in both traditional and

non-traditional partnerships, including premarital, marital, and long-term domestic partnerships.

My approach centers on helping partners:

  • Strengthen emotional connection

  • Deepen empathy and understanding

  • Reduce patterns of conflict or communication breakdown

  • Navigate transitions such as engagement, parenthood, moves, or career changes

  • Repair relational injuries and rebuild trust

  • Foster nervous-system awareness so each partner can feel safer and more grounded in the relationship

  • Build resilience, respect, and shared meaning

Together, we explore not only each partner’s thoughts and feelings, but also the somatic and nervous-system responses that shape

communication and connection. This holistic approach helps couples shift out of reactive cycles and into calmer, more compassionate, and

more mindful patterns of relating.

I also offer Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling and the Bringing Baby Home program to support couples through major life transitions,

including welcoming a new baby and strengthening partnership during the perinatal period.

Premarital: Prepare Enrich Assessment and Counseling

Premarital counseling is an opportunity to build a strong, resilient foundation before entering marriage — or to deepen a long-term partnership

at any stage. I work with couples who are engaged, considering marriage, or simply wanting to enrich their relationship.

Using the Prepare/Enrich Assessment, we explore:

  • Relationship strengths

  • Growth areas

  • Communication patterns

  • Conflict-resolution styles

  • Family-of-origin dynamics

  • Shared values, hopes, and future plans

This process allows couples to understand themselves and each other on a deeper level, improving emotional clarity, communication, and mutual support. We also integrate tools from attachment theory, nervous-system regulation, mindfulness, and evidence-based couples therapy, helping partners stay grounded, connected, and intentional as they move into the next phase of their relationship.

For more information, you are welcome to explore the Prepare/Enrich program, which is designed to help couples build strong and lasting marriages.
