Bringing Baby Home & Perinatal Mental Health

Welcoming a new baby is one of the most profound transitions a family can experience. It can bring immense joy, tenderness, and connection — and it can also introduce stress, exhaustion, and unexpected emotional or relational challenges. Both can be true at the same time.

I provide Bringing Baby Home counseling and workshops for expecting and new parents, rooted in research from the Gottman Institute and informed by my integrative mind–body approach. My goal is to support couples and individuals in navigating this transition with steadiness, clarity, and compassion for themselves and each other.

In our work together, we explore the emotional, relational, and nervous-system shifts that naturally arise during early parenthood. I help couples:

  • Reduce stress and strengthen their ability to regulate the nervous system

  • Communicate more openly and feel understood by one another

  • Navigate conflict with greater gentleness and skill

  • Deepen emotional connection and shared meaning

  • Identify the changes and supports that help their relationship truly thrive

  • Prepare for the relational, practical, and identity shifts of welcoming a new baby

My approach blends evidence-based couples therapy, attachment and developmental perspectives, and mind–body practices such as somatic awareness, mindfulness, tapping (EFT), and gentle nervous-system regulation tools. These methods support both partners in staying connected, grounded, and emotionally resourced during a time of enormous change.

Whether you are preparing during pregnancy, adjusting after birth, or finding yourselves overwhelmed months into parenthood, this work creates space for stability, understanding, and renewed closeness.

Perinatal Mental Health for Individuals

Pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period bring immense emotional and physical change. Even when the transition is deeply wanted, it can stir anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, unresolved past experiences, and nervous-system stress. You do not have to navigate this alone.

I support individuals through all stages of the perinatal journey — from fertility and pregnancy to birth recovery and early parenthood. Our work may include:

  • Managing anxiety, mood changes, or emotional overwhelm

  • Processing birth experiences or trauma

  • Navigating identity shifts and changing roles

  • Supporting nervous-system regulation during a time of high vulnerability

  • Strengthening self-compassion, boundaries, and emotional resilience

  • Addressing sleep challenges, intrusive thoughts, or stress that arise postpartum

My approach blends evidence-based therapy, attachment and developmental understanding, and mind–body practices such as somatic awareness, mindfulness, EMDR, and acupressure-based tapping (EFT). Together, we create a grounded, supportive space for you to reconnect with yourself, build emotional steadiness, and feel more empowered through this transformative stage of life.
